As it Turns Out, I Agree With Joe Biden

Today, before the the Conservative Movement's Rabbinical assembly, Joe Biden made the pronouncement that Israel should not rely on the United States for its security.  I agree.. but what does this mean in light of Obama's statement to AIPAC that the United States has Israel's back?

Vice President Biden said that Israel still has time to strike Iran and it must decide for herself whether to do so.  He added: “The window has not closed in terms of the Israelis if they choose to act on their own militarily.”
... Biden also said that Israel’s perception of Iran as an existential threat was “justifiable.” He warned Iran that its window was closing for a diplomatic way out of its isolation because of its suspected nuclear weapons program.
Really?  Is this a green light from the United States on an Iran strike by Israel? Or is this Vice President Biden running off  at the mouth?  I suspect that the United States does not believe that Israel is ready to strike Iran before the election and this is Biden's way of trying to get on the right side of the issue when it will have no impact.

He should be careful what he says.  Israel could certainly strike Iran now and claim that it had a green light from the United States.
